Here is my pineapple.....I hope I get to eat it before the local wildlife.
Pine Apple
wow! tell us the story: how long have you had, how you care for it, how much longer before you can harvest
Oh wow. We actually just bought our first pineapple plant. Hope it does well. Enjoy!
vossner, its a simple story.......two years ago a friend of mine bought a pineapple and gave me the top leafy part and I planted it out in the yard. I ignored it for the past two years. About three months ago I noticed a tiny little pineapple.
Kauai17 good luck with your pineapple.
Enjoy. NOTHING (well, almost nothing) better than a fresh pine!
Ha...I think they're to die for fresh from the grocery store...you'd better s-a-v-o-r that bad boy just in my honor :)
Sarah
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! beautiful. What is the difference B/W Your pineapple and pinapple lily? Both are same?
Kaleem
her pineapple is edible
Great! I have two pineapple.. I planted in big pot and need to be plant in ground.. It's three years old and no pineapple yet.. I think they will be happy in ground and bring me fresh pineapple someday!
The only enemy are hummers...if they pollinate a Pine, you will never get fruit. Good explanation for why we don't have hummers in HI!!! Dole won't let them in!!
Carol
I have hummers, so what do I do? put a net over plant?
Good idea. If the pineapple is pollinated...it will develope seeds....YUCK! and abort. We have to throw one or two out each year that are pollinated by accident...by moths, ants, bees....
the v- pink, white and green and just the yellow and green can you eat the var ones? The vpink looks so tasty. but scared to try it...."The mother plant will aslo eat you alive."
