Now that I have the hang of this photo posting thingy - I think I have created a monster, LOL !
Anyway it looks like the forum is quiet this morning so maybe you might like to look at these.
This first is an Austrian Copper rose, which every year I say I'm going to scrap but don't have the heart !
This morning's garden pics
Heatherbelle
Thanks for showing us great pictures of your plants and garden,
Glad you got the hang of posting pictures, keep them coming..
Wilma
Heather your yard is beautiful!!! I'm sooooooooo glad I got to see it in person and am really enjoying seeing it bloom! Ü
Thanks for the lovely comments, everyone.
Jeanne, I am very excited, I have a bud on the sanguinea that you and Sandy brought to the RU for me, but it hasn't Y'd - is this normal for sangs or was it a cutting ?
Lovely photos, Heather. You really have the hang of that "camera thing", now! :) I really enjoyed your beautiful flowers. I want to come back and see your spectaular garden again, now that I have seen all these new beauties. Don't you dare give that Rhodie back to your DSIL. It's beautiful. Love that tree face, I've been trying to find one like that. Too cute!
P.S. I have a wrinkled hand that looks just like your mama's....LOL
Heather, that azalea is stunning. Great group of pictures... glad you can post them.
Good stuff... Joan
Simply lovely pictures Heather. Obviously a very loved garden.
I was going to mention the acnistus being hardy too when I saw it in your gh.
Is that nandina in the pic with the Buddha head?
Now where did you find the forest face? It's really eye catching.
Your pictures are lovely Heather. Your garden is looking very nice. I'm glad you got those brugs in the ground...it'll keep them from blowing over. It's been awfully windy lately hasn't it? I love the Actinus australis, but that's probably partly to do with the fact that I'm particularly partial to the colour blue. (and the letter "p" by the look of it. LOL)
Your forest face is cool. What is it made of? I'm dying to see the bud on the Sanguinea. Do you have any pictures of it? I just went and checked mine and I don't see any buds happening yet. Make sure you keep us posted.
Sandy
Heather, your pictures look great, and your garden looks wonderful. I, too, am trying a brug in the ground thsi year, and so far, it hasn't died, but also, it looks very sad!!! I will need to give it a dose of fertilizer and epsom salts and see if that helps. Also, I have a slug probem, so will have to deal with that also!!!
Glenda
Yes Liz, that is nandina and it looks like it is going to flower. I found the forest face at our local Hallmark store and it is made of resin I think - but I think some crafty person (ggd maybe !)could replicate the features using clay or something but then it only cost around $15 so you might spend that much on product !
Sandy, here is the bud on the sang, Jeanne says it will probably Y after the bud, sometimes that happens.
Heather, how do you attach the face to the tree??
ggd
Very nice Columbine Heather. I just got a new "Dragonfly" Columbine like yours except that it is blue and yellow. I'll take a picture of it too.
Thanks for the tip on the Tree faces at Hallmark. I am going to Kelowna next week, so I'll check them out there. :)
Glenda, they are attached by little wire loops embedded in the back and hung on nails on the tree.
Heather, I have actually seen pictures on the interent of homemade cement faces on trees, but de darned if I can remember where!!! Will have to do a little research!

Here's a tree face I found on the web.

Also saw some that were made for halloween, and the mouths and eyes glow in the dark. Weird!!

LOL, that one is really good!
I think one of my sanguineas is doing the same thing Heather. It kind of looks like it's Ying too. We'll have to keep comparing notes.
Sandy
Heather, I just checked my seed grown sang and it has Y'd and had a few buds on it, one getting a decent size. That is really quick for a seed grown sang to bud up. Obviously it was a good cross bringing out early blooming characteristics. That's quite exciting. I don't have the parent plants anymore. They became virused and I tossed them. That's the problem with sangs, they virus very easily. It's best to grow them from seed. I hope I have some pollen so I'll have to pollinate this one as soon as it blooms. If not, maybe Liz has some sang pollen.
OK, OK, I'll go out and look at mine, I don't want to be left behind ;)
Nope, nothing that looks like a bud there, but the mobishu bud is still looking healthy...
