My brugs have holes in the leaves. I don't see anything on the leaf. I have had a slug problem and have been putting bait out for them but wonder if it is something else eating the leaves. I have noticed on others pictures sometimes have the same problem.
If you have had a similar problem, what do you use to take care of it?
Thanks for any help,
Beverly

holes in the leaves
Beverly, I have a bunch of these leaves. I don't know what's eating them. I know snails./slugs are because they leave a trail where the slim was. I don't see anything either.
Around here, if I were on duty as a MG (no, NOT Morning Glory) I would say that the outside bites are slugs and the inside holes are Chinese Beetles (Japanese in other cultures).

I use Bayer Tree and Shrub when I get holes and do not know from what. It works for 1 year and I have had great results with it. It is expensive though but so easy to use. NO SPRAYING!!!

Will it work on grasshoppers still in the nymph stage?
I have no clue, did you read the link I posted? They may cover that.
I think it will work on anything that eats it.
Kell, I've been searching for this thread to ask: How do you mix (recipe, per gal) the Bayer Tree and Shrub, that is without measuring all your plants, etc. I need a quick reply, if possible - I need to get it on them before it gets too hot. TIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS: Kell I looked at the Bayer site before I posted here. Does anyone reading this post use this product, and, if so, how much did you use per gallon for medium sized brugs??? TIA!!!!
Sherry...1oz. per gallon...across the board. I have used it on small, med and large brugs....just more water to the larger ones...drench the soil.

YES, it does indeed help Carol, thanks!!!!! The instructions on the Tree/Shrub bottle are difficult and unlike others, I'm just not good at measuring plants, whew!!! BTW, do you use it on seedlings?? I've just put some in the ground and I've seen a few bug holes, but no bugs...
Yes...the smallest seedling 4 leaves old.
Sherry...am doing some research on that Fish Emulsion...will email you. Not as "kewl" as I thought working with my soil.
Alohas,
Carol
