Hi from Idaho

Malad City, ID(Zone 5a)

I'm a new member from SouthEastern Idaho. I bought a few acres here a couple of years ago and recently purchased a few more. Now I'm the proud owner of some of the worst soil you could ask for. I've planted alot of things and watched alot of things die! One of my neighbors favorite saying is "I think that I shall never see.........A tree! Anyway I'm hoping to get alot of pointers here and with any luck, grow something beside WEEDS.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes. In response to the trees?, Idaho does have alot of trees, they are just not in my yard. My PH is very high so it is hard to get things to grow. I'm open to suggestions!

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Hello and welcome! We have a forum about soil that you can check for some answers. Plant everything with compost, it is neutral ph and will help besides feeding your plants. I live on the dry eastern side of Oregon, not so many trees here except in the mountains and around homesteads, and the same general climate as yours.

Welcome from Michigan I wish I could help with your PH problem but I defer to the experts here. The soil forum is a great suggestion of the place to start.
