He's hooked

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Creamsickle finally developed the blooms I suppose she is supposed to have. DH suddenly offered to make more spots to plant brugmansias after seeing this one!

The first flower was a disappointment. This is the second flush. I am lying on the ground shooting UP...the flowers are about 2' off the ground. She seems to want to be a Standard...so I am going to encourage it.

...and we found a nice shady-ish spot for Snowbank...she is happy there. Has grown a foot and new growth from the bottom.

...and Donna's Monster Brug...Now 4' x 4' and just a blooming fool.

Yes...infact, she did bloom once. But she is not happy where she is...not growing, pouting, so I am going to move her out to the road.

Thanks so much, SD...you really got me going!!! And everyone else has been so generous....thanks.

Beautiful ... You think there is anyway you can ship some of your weather this way?? It has been sooooo cold here! Your brugs look so healthy and happy there.

Way to go, Carol!

I knew your DH was a lost cause...lol

Brug blooms seem to have that "deer in the headlights" kind of effect on us guys. I foresee no problems in having him agree on more & more brugs.

If you use the same trick my DW used on me, I'm sure you'll have him thinkin' it was aaalll his idea... :)~

YUP.

But sometimes it is soooooo haaard steering him in that direction!!!

Thanks EVERYone. I have been thinking this afternoon, after reading your great comments, how good it is to share my joy with a group of "close strangers"!!!! Up here on the mt. most everyone thinks I am a bit enthusiastic about plants (I hope i never become blase about them)...and when I put a photo on this forum...everyone is so supportive and makes me feel soooooo good.

Thanks guys.

I love your Snowbank Carol. I understand they might not grow well here. I have a Maya that is growing, so far, like a weed and appears to like it here as well as her solid green brug neighbors. But, they all tend to like it when the weather is cool and crisp like today...
