I'm a 67 year old guy but I feel like a kid a few days before Christmas waiting to plant my first Brugs thanks to the unparalleled help from Brugie and Monika.
In the next few days, I'll be planting my first cuttings. I have yet to see a Brug flush. I have absolutely no past Brug experience or pictures to share but wish to join the fraternity and get in your good graces by contributing a tool from something I do have experience with -- computers and programming.
Thread after thread sometimes dwell on the hue of the Brug color and I have come to realize why that is so important -- not just for hybridizers but newbies as well.
So here's my computer tool in my very first Brug post that I feel Bruggers might find useful. It is a quick and fairly easy way to determine if your monitor is giving you the correct color display. Don't shy away from this techie description because it's very user friendly. Give it a try and let me know if it's helpful or too technical so I can be guided accordingly. My Very 1st Brug Post
I do need a little calibration work done here. My black scale is a little off. Thanks for the heads up on this. Now, to find the time. LOL! Thanks Dave.
Interesting....and thank you! I'm the same a Brugie, my black scale is off a little bit too. But I know my monitor at work must be wayyyyyy off! I'm excited to view this website while at work. Thank you!
You will have so much fun this summer, Dave. Anticipating the brug blooms are almost as much fun as the actual blooms.
Thanks for the link!!
Hello Dave, fellow Hoosier, and welcome to the Brug crazy house, yep we are all Brug crazy here, I planted ten Brugs out over a week ago and it has done nothing but rain ever since, sure hope it warms up. I hope you read all rhe Forums on these plants, lots to learn. will watch to see your first bloom posted.
Doris
Thanks Kell,
Your one of several other highly select and respected Bruggers who has also helped me on my way. Your response to my DG email question to you was both warm and expertly informative.
To show you that I respect your opinion, have I gotten too far over the top with this post?
Warm regards,
Dave
Hi Dave and welcome to DG and the wonderful world of brugs!
Once you get started, you will wonder how you ever lived before without them!
Your info. on color and monitor adjustment is just what I have been looking for...for years now. I do have PS and use it all the time. I just didn't know about the Adobe Gamma! I will for sure be using it today! My monitor is not warmed up enough yet to do it right now!
What a nice gift you gave us this morning! BTW...will this also let me adjust my monitor to have colors close to my printer output? I have a 1280 Epson printer. I know the colors cannot be exactly the same, but I would love for them to be very similar! Thank you again and enjoy the forum...Margie
Aren't you sweet, Dave. Thank you!! We will all expect pictures this summer from you!!
picturelady,
Check the links within the links and you should have all the information you need.

Dave, Thank you so much for this information. These are things that have bugged me for years but I didn't know what to do about them. :) Welcome to Brugmania :)
Welcome Dave! Ditto what Jazz said, I'll use that, thanks! Have fun and happy Gardening!
