Hi All,
I just wanted to share with the group this photo album of a Brug that is in my yard. I noticed a funny looking bud on it recently and starting watching it and taking pictures. It turned out to be twin buds sharing the same calyx. Go to the link to view the photo album of it's day by day progress. I also found another set of twin blooms on the same plant, but they did not share the same calyx, the flower stems were fused together as one. I just got done editing the photo album, I have been working on it on and off all week.
Check it out, it is a little different.

Mutation: Twin Blooms
Very interesting and fun to watch I'll bet. Jeanette
Connie, I sure hope that becomes a trend!! LOL
Amazing!!! I wonder if anyone else had see this?
Judy
Connie, that is way too cool...glad you shared!

That is cool! I wonder to if anyone else had this happen.

Twins!!! Awesome...thanks for sharing this unusual event, Connie. :)
I think you should try for seeds from that bloom, is it too late. You might capture some awsome genes!!!
Judy
wow, that is neat! Good job documenting too.
I did try to pollinate it, but I don't think it took. Both of the seed pods are yellow right where they join to the stem. Mine usually just fall off when that happens.
I will be cutting the plant back soon, but I will leave the branches that have the twin blooms to see what happens, there are already new buds just above them on the new growth.
That is very neat! I've seen other types of flowers do that on occassion as well. My Bee Balm did something along that line last year, but not quite the same (double heads/crowns) on many but not all of them.
