White BBQ Sauce

Auburn, AL(Zone 8a)

Ok for those of you who like to be a little outside the box here is a BBQ sauce for you to try.

My family is from North Alabama and I spent my early years in Decatur, AL home to Big Bob Gibson's BBQ. (link below) BBG is world famous for it's BBQ and for years the special white sauce was known only to those of us who ate at the few BBQ places spread out through the city. A lucky few had connections and had the recipe and it was horded like your Great Grandma's finger bowls! Well BBG started to bottle and sell it but it never tasted the same. Here is the recipe I grew up on and found on The Food Network, it's a great sauce and I hope everyone enjoys it.

1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup vinegar
1/2 teaspoon prepared horseradish
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons apple cider

Combine all ingredients in bowl and mix well.
