Brug Seeds
I haven't Judy...always put mine in a container and put some press n' seal on top of it. Then put it outside on the hot pavement and let it germinate that way....then you can plant it in a pot..or put in a pot now and cover with something to keep the moisture in and let nature takes it's course.
What do I know....I'm dilusional on Thera-Flu lol!

A hot tody really is good for you when you have the flu. Opens up your sinsus, keeps you from coughing and you could care less if you have the flu!!!
lol Judy...I get my thera-flu ready (heat it up), put 2 tsp. of sugar in it and alittle bit of bourbon....I get lots of sleep lol...and don't much care what's going on around me either hehehe, you read my mind! lol
Thanks for caring :-)

I have. I grew several last year that way. I have put some in the ground this spring. The one I'm watching anxiously is 2 B.sanguinea. No blooms yet, 1 is about 10 feet tall now. The other I am trying an experiment, one plant I pinched the top off when it was 2.5 feet tall which induced a Y. That one is in a pot, the other is in the ground. Both were "poked" in a pot last summer, Neither one has bloomed yet, probably because of my experimental forrays with fertilizers.
It's hot and humid here though, which is good for starting seedlings.

Thanks for posting the info!!

Judy,
That seems to be the only way i can get them to germinate. I tried rockwool for the 2nd time, and once again, it failed, or i failed it, lol. I just cant seem to figure out what all the fuss is about.
I do have luck with potting them in seed starting mix.
I have heard lots of stories how someone tried to get them to germinate, gave up and reused the dirt on another plant and then one day a brug or 2 pops up!! Or they toss the dirt on a compost pile and brugs start to sprout. So it can definitely be done without much work.
LOL Julie, how clever to use the hot sidewalk. I remember my first year I had no place warm, but the sides of my computer. It got filled up quickly!! So I brought mine out to my car and let them sit in the sun. LOL They germinated. Now I do not bother with heat at all. Just one cool and one warm fluorescent light does the trick.
