The brug cuttings I have going are doing well. I'd just like to know more about them. I've looked around in various places on the internet (including places we aren't supposed to mention) and can't find the info I need.
I am wondering whether mine are in the aurea group or the arborea group, and then under those groups, what they are (suaves, insignius, versicolor, etc.... etc....) and also want to know, if at all possible, who the parents are of the plants (what crosses they came from).
Whiskers
Creamsickle
Herrenhauser Garten
Maya
(or)
Peaches & Cream
Super Nova
Cherokee
Also, can you cross an aurea with an arborea? If so, then what is it that you then have, lol. And can you cross say, a Suave with an Insignis or another from the aurea group that isn't a suave?
I'm trying to figure out how all of this came about - and what not to waste my time with trying to make crosses later on in the year.
Question on the Brugs that I have.
Do you have Monikas book?
It explains all the groups and what is what
No - I don't have the book. I should probably get it. Is there an English version?
you have some great ones there.. go to metacrawler.com put in Brugmansia's.. will give you lots sources...
yes here is an english version,a translation that comes with it
I think Susie and some others here have it available(I could be wrong though)
there is also one by Preissel in english
I've seen it offered in some book club selections
also at Amazon
both would be the way to go....lol
but I'm a book freak
I LOVE books
I love books also. Monika's is a great resource and a valuable asset for learning about brugs. Dr. Preissel's also covers daturas if you are interested in them. I find that I refer to Monika's much more often because it has the info that I am usually looking for. I recommend these books to all.
Forgot to say that I believe that Calalily here on Dave's sells these books for Monika here in the States. Hopefully, she will come along and respond or you could email her through Dave's and ask her about Monika's book and translation copy.

Karrie,
I just got Monika's book from Cala. Yes it has a translation. Jeanette
Jeanette - is it readable then? That was my main concern. I really would like to have this book.
Sent Cala an email
Yes Karrie, Kin is right. It's a good book. I got one for my daughter for Christmas also. Jeanette
I'm workin' on it! :-)
