I thought it would be easiest to post the pictures here so everyone could give me ideas.
This is my ugly front yard and back. We bought this house last year and so far all our time and money have gone to painting the inside, wallpaper and putting siding up on the outside. Now it's time to start on the yard. This is what I had in mind (general not firm) we planted formosa azaleas (about a month ago) in the front the old bushes were dwarf and even for that small as heck. I'd like to put a new border up and white rock in the space. I thought I'd try and put some type of year around plant that has some color around the mailbox and towards the left side of the garage in front of the trees/bushes to make a plant border or edging but how to balance that out with the right side of the yard I don't know. In the back I don't want flowering at all (I wouldn't be able to breathw) but I'd like to clear off the groundcover and replace the back fence, trim up and shape the trees and bushes and then have year round colorful plants spaced out (again using the white rock) The decking will be ripped up and when the lotto fairy visits I'll screen in the porch (will be 30x12) so I'll bring it out to the length of the house so I'd like to keep the landscape design to something that hugs the fence. Am I making any sense? My main questions I guess are what plants would do well in this zone and what is a year round low maintance colorful plant list.
I know I know I'm asking way to much aren't I.
