Here are 3 seedling babies of October Rose that I had started... they look nice an healthy, albeit a bit leggy... is that normal for them to be leggy? How big should they be before planting in the ground permanently??
I am new at growing them from seed...but then you prolly new that by reading my posts...lol

My Hibiscus Babies...
I grew some Hibiscus this winter that got leggy like that. What I found out is that I should have started pinching the new growth leaves so the plant could start getting a little more bushy. I have a couple now that I am doing that to and it is helping some, but my plants are about 2 ft. tall.
Carolyn,
They look great to me!
I'm letting mine grow in gal containers until they get too big for them before they will go in the ground. By then they should be able to handle anything.
As for being leggy, once they get 18-24" tall prune them back 6" or so. That way they'll put on lateral branches, as well as new branches from the base of the plant.
HTH,
Donna
Thanks Donna, that is kind of what I had in mind.....
I can hardly wait til they are full fledged bushes... lol..
Blessings,
Carolyn
