Does anyone have Llamas?

My husband and I are house shopping, and one criterion we have is that we get enough property so that someday we can get llamas. Although we've had many pets throughout my lifetime, we never had llamas. Can anyone tell me about their experiences and give me any advice? I'm totally a novice here-- I just know I like them. And I like to knit, so it would be nice to be able to use their hair also. Any information would really be appreciated, and if anyone can tell me how much land they require, that would be very helpful, too, as we are house shopping now.
