Amethyst Sea Holly 'Sapphire Blue'
Eryngium amethystinum

The blooms have now opened (2 weeks or so after 1st photo) and the spikey sepals have started turning blue. The stems are turning blue also.

That is a striking plant, Hazel. Is it a Texas native?

If I had read your comments for this plant I wouldn't have asked if it was a Texas native but then, I wouldn't have this great list similar natives either. Thanks!

My pleasure ... I'll let you if and when I need to thin them out.
