What to do with fennel?

I have a fennel plant growing in my flower garden and I have no idea what I can do with it. I want to take it out since it doesn't provide flowers, but I can't bring myself to tearing it out since I keep having this thought that I might find a use for it.
Anyone have any idea what I can use this plant for in cooking?
