Here's my biggest Passiflora that covers the entire front of my house...
Passiflora violacea in bloom
hi indi.
this is my first year growing this particular species, and after seeing your photo i am so pleased, because mine is covered with buds and now i know what to look foward to! your fence looks beautiful.
oh yeah. duh. don't know why i typed fence, i could see plain as day you said house. (i've been fooling with my fence all day) :)
correction: your HOUSE looks great :)
It's 1 vine growing (well, long ago escaped out the bottom) in a 24 inch pot. It's been there for 5 years... it never freezes back except at the ends a bit, so that may be why it's gotten so large.
Well, if you ever feel like rooting cuttings, I'm sure we can trade. Yesterday I bought Passies Jelly Joker and Aurantia at LOWES!!!!!! The tag says passiflora- "product of Canada" but gives no name. These are blooming gal. size. This flr is wracked out and photos bluer when the actual color is a dark violet. It reflects. Nice plant--I hope it can stand south Louisiana heat from hell.
That is an amazing and prolific vine! Beautiful flowers!!
WOW....what amazing passies. Flicker does it say which company in Canada???
It says that the passiflora were grown for Lowe's Home and Garden stores. And then "product of Canada". I hope a few of the other passies are blooming so I can see if these are more varieties so hard to find in the States.
LOL....no Lowe's here. :( Boy I wish they had the grower's name on the tag.
lovely. everytime i try to grow one from seed it dies or doesnt germinate. so i gave up and look at beautiful pics like this one.
verry pretty
Oh yes please!!! Ü You have mail Cristine. :)
Sorry Indigoez for taking over your thread.....different passiflora are sooooooooooo hard to get here (esp. on the prairies).
That's ok Lilypon. I cam imagine that they are hard to come by up there in zone 3 lol:-)
Imzadi, have you ever tried getting a larger plant instead of seeds? There must be some available in SC...
