Funny, I had a friend call me this morning who was lusting after RK. I told her RK blooms were not all that great, then later I went out and about 5 were open and just gorgeous. By the end of the day when I went to take pictures, but a rain storm had knocked all of the open ones off. For a minute I thought I was at Susie's house. LOL. We are having such bad weather and so late in the season. We should not be getting any rain at all now.
RK
Can't wait for my "Prize" to get bigger and bloom. YUM.
Carol
Once again, a beauty, Kell
My DW will be jealous when she sees that one... :)~
Oh, I LOVE IT!!! The photo is stunning.......
It is hard to imagine that you have bad weather, Kell... It can only get better now.. :)
Susie, you are getting framed again..... lol
OMG.. Those are lovely.. I really like the brugs with long tendrils!
Well Kell..... you said... "RK blooms were not all that great". I think they are really nice, even knocked off the plant. I love the form. To me.....those pics look like a Reigning King! LOL
Very pretty, Kell.
I love the RK blooms. Don't know why anyone would no/ like them!!?
They are always gorgeous and just wonderful here.
That's a beauty Kell. Very regal.
Kell, Absolutely beautiful photo. Love the long tendrils. DonnaS
Last year they had way too much recurve. They also were very pale. This year they were already darker on their first day and no recurve yet. Yes, very elegant. I sure hope they stay like that.
Pant, pant, pant! That is one beautiful bloom, Kell. I have been lusting after RK for awhile...and its so......PINK!
stunning!
LOL Mel, not that pink!! I will try to start one for you if I have more to cut on. I have 4 or 5 that rooted when I was away but I think they are all spoken for. If I do not send one to Tracey soon she will kill me long distance. I can't remember if Susie needs one. I did just send one to Deb last week. I am so far behind. I am going to offer 2 of them to the contest winners, I think. They just need a little more time to root in. These are tricky in the beginning, easy to rot. I rather make sure they are going to live before I send them out. I had hoped to offer Susanne to the contest winners, but I still can't find them. LOL. I did find some unmarked ones though. SHOOT!!
I also need to get out 2 creamsickles, and 2 sets of mini brugs I grew last year. I had the first sets rot last winter. A couple Pinkmonds and a few Mayas. On the Mayas, I took lots of cuttings, put them in a pail and watched them rot. So now I have to take more cuttings and get them right in dirt. And some arboreas............And the list goes on. I am so far behind. I am so glad I do not trade, I just send them out to be nice. No one would talk to me again if they were trades. LOL
Carol, how is your RK doing I sent you? Growing well? When they are young, they do rot easily. This is one you do not pot up to a bigger pot till it is rootbound.
You are such a sweetheart, Kell. Don't cut on your plant until it recoups from all the cuttings you have shared. I sure don't want Tracey killing you long distance! LOL!!
You better take care of her first!
awww Kell! I've been back to this thread multiple times to look at that sexy lady.
The way my 2 Maya cuttings from you are going I'll be able to return some if you ever have a shortage. (as IF! ) ;)
Kell, I think we had this discussion last year, but I LOVE recurve, the more the better. I think Monika said that the blossoms recurve to make pollination easier - but maybe I dreamed that, ya think??!!
