IA RU German tater salad.

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

German potato salad.
6 slices bacon, cut fine.
6 cups boiled potatoes (5 lbs)
2 tablespoons Miricle Whip (Do not subsitute mayo. )
Fry bacon & remove from grease.
Take 1/3 cup of grease, saute ½ cup chopped onion, 3/4 cup chopped celery in the grease.
After sauteeing, add 2 teaspoons of salt, 1/3 cup of sugar, ¼ cup water & ½ cup dark vinegar.
Stir well.
Add bacon & the Miricle Whip to the potatoes. Stir together.
Pour onion & celery mixture over the potatoes, stir together & heat.
Serve warm.
Best if sets in refrigerator overnight.
