Help with Bumblebees

Circle Pines, MN(Zone 4b)

Don't get me wrong, I like the little ladies. Since the honeybees around here are virtually non-existent because of that parasite that is wiping out all the wild hives, I think they are very important and we generally leave each other alone. I can weed and deadhead while they go through my flowers, and we have never had a confrontation.

But I just found out that one of them is building a nest in the garden right next to my porch - where I spend a lot of time. When I was a child, we had a nest under our stairs, and we were stung repeatedly just going into our house. I know they are generally gentle unless they feel their nest is threatened, and I am afraid that it is too close for comfort.

So how can I convince this little girl to go build a nest elsewhere before she has a whole brood? I don't want to kill her, but I don't want her nest less than three feet away from where I spend a lot of time! Any suggestions?

I'd just destroy the nest when you're very certain she isn't there. She'll probably just rebuild elsewhere. Of course I'm no bumblebee expert LOL.
