silly question time

Greenfield, IN(Zone 5b)

I received some Impatien seeds when I first joined DG (thanks, mamakane). The plants are doing WAY better than any plants I have ever bought at the nursery. I want to save the seeds for myself and for trades. OK here's the question: Where are the seeds? When the bloom drops I don't see a seed pod. OK - I haven't gotten down eye level but I figured I could see the seed pod somewhere. All I see are the new buds.

can somebody please help me?!

apparently the seed pods will explode when you touch them, i don't know what happens to yours but his page is very useful for any questions you might have:

My husband loves Impatients and grows many every year.Certain colors seem to have more seed pods than others. The orange and reds had very few pods where the pink ones had many.As soon as the ripe pod is touched it pops open and the seeds come out so you might want to pick them with something underneath to catch the seeds. Hope this helps.

Lil, I checked out that site & bookmarked it! Thank you.

snowhermit - just my luck! I was wanting the orange, red & almost purple ones! (I'll be satisfied with the pink though!)

Thank you both, I will put a paper plate under the seed pod when I collect them. Hopefully that will help.
