Am looking for a vine to plant on the east side of my house. I want it (them) to climb trellises. The space is also under a large very old Maple so it is shady. All help gratefully accepted!
Climbers
bseddon...I would suggest you ask over on the vines and climbers forum...brugs do not climb, but they do get very big!
I recently got a lilac vine that is supposed to do well in shade. I think also clematis do well in shade. And of course ivy...Good luck on your search.

Virginia Creeper might work for you...
I have LOTS of Virginia Creeper...In fact if anyone wants some, let me know. But I'd really like a flowering climber. Thanks for the input. I have some great brugs...Just got 3 red ones. Can't wait to see what the flower looks like. Have to check out the lilac vine.
Wait... wait .... did you say RED Brugs!!!
(I had to say that for all you who want a Red Brug!!!)
bseddon you have to tell them all about your red brugs.

grrrrrrrr
Gosh, can you imagine a brug climber? I can see it now all my lathe on my porch with huge blooms hanging down.
Look at all them blooms aren't they simply beautiful. There is a little jealously on my part, I really mean a lot of jealously.
I should have mentioned...these are not mine!! :-(
I think they are from a grower in Japan! Found it posted on another thread!
Edited to say... Brugmansias being grown at Shinjuku Garden in Tokyo.
