Here's a spattering of saxifrages from the alpine house of my local botanical garden. This first one is Saxifraga X apiculata 'Gregor Mendel'.
Saxifrages from my local Botanical Garden
Beautiful plants. You must have enjoyed the trip.
I work there! I get to enjoy them daily!
These are beautiful. I love the stems on the Suendermannii. I hope my Gregor Mendel looks like this one some day. The flowers-to-foliage ratio in the photograph is incredible. Mine had only about five little blooms this year, but at least it tried. My ailing irvingii is coming back nicely, by the way. I got rid of the brown parts and the rest of the plant is starting to grow again.
