Fused Toot FlyTrap 'Fused Tooth' (Dionaea muscipula)

Beautiful picture of a beautiful specimen.

I just picked up a gorgeous 'Red Dragon', I am absolutely thrilled. Yes, that image does really show off the "fused teeth" doesn't it!

I hope it eats a lot of pests for you! I can't wait till my pitcher plant gets bigger. I know I shouldn't but I grin evily and feed it little white flies and gnats.

Tee he, just don't feed it anything that is larger than about 1/10th of the VFT trap and make sure the prey is alive and not dead. The struggling of the insect stimulates glands that produce digestive enzymes much the same way that Neps do. I buy flightless fruitflies for my little VFTs and juvenile Neps... Nothing but the best for Mommie's babies. In the summer time I put them outside and they are on their own to snag dinner.

Lol. "Babies" is a different way to describe them..
