Three years ago i put in my first pond - only a couple hundred gallons. I bought some shubunkins, comets and fantails, about 5 or 6. Then they mated and i had about 20, so I thought "build another pond!" so I put in a new pond, about 2000 gallons. I put this one in Feb/Mar and transfered some fish at the end of Mar. Since then they have mated again and I know I have about 100 fish. There are schools of baby fish every where you look. There are way too many and my questions is - What do i do with them now? Does anyone have any suggestions?
Too many fish....
Hi Newt,
Sounds like you have the makings of a nice little business there. But please, dont try trading them on this site for SASE - it could get pretty messy !! Seriously, have you thought about approaching a garden centre or fish supplier in you area to see if they want to buy some of your excess stock ?
El Tel
Thanks EL Tel. I had not thought of contacting the garden centers or fish suppliers - a rather 'duh' moment on my part. I would even give them away instead of selling them - I just want the to find a good home.
Have your ever thouht about childrns hosp or place where they hve a fountain or pond
