I am wondering if and when I fertilize this eucharis grandiflora that i "smuggled" back from Jamaica? I brought just the bulbs back, planted them, and now they are coming up. I am hoping for the beautiful blooms.

I used to use Miracle Grow on mine. They like plenty of water, but not standing water. The soil in your pot looks dry. They will bloom when pot bound. The blooms are beautiful. I can understand its trip to Maryland. Mine met an untimely death. The movers got the crates confused and put my plants in storage. By the time the plants were located, they were dead.
I had these for a few years but gave up on them because I thought they were more trouble than they were worth. I did get them to rebloom successfully. Been there, done that. I'm sure they are much easier to grow if you live in a frost-free area or have a greenhouse.
Here's what I did, based on expert advice, and it worked for me (I also experimented a bit, and found out some do's and don't's). Keep them consistently moist (but not soggy) and feed regularly during the summer. They do well in partial shade. Like Bettydee, I just used Miracle-Gro on mine. In late fall, when you have to bring them indoors, keep them in a sunny location but decrease the water and don't feed them - let the top of the soil get dry before watering again. They will go semi-dormant and look a little droopy. But do not let them get dried out and die back completely like an amaryllis/hippeastrum - that will stress them too much and you won't get flowers. In late winter/early spring, you will see signs of new growth and buds forming, start watering again, give them a bit of fert, and you should get blooms. They do have attractive, fragrant flowers. I bet people who can provide better growing conditions can get flowers more consistently and with less trouble.
Yes .. when I was staying at the house in Jamaica they had them all around a wall planter and they were all blooming and fragrant. Thanks for the advice and I will begin fertilizing and watering and keep you posted....I guess if they have to be pot bound to bloom I can't expect any blooms this summer...sort of like Agapanthus.
