I am looking for Blue Walking Iris. I have several things to trade. Let me know and we can strike a deal!

Is the blue walking iris the same as white/purple or is it really all blue? I would love to have one of these. I have the white/purple. Thanks!

Yes I have the white purple but would love a few blue ones. Thanks

Blessings,

I'm also looking for the blue (Royal) Walking Iris. I have the white and the the yellow.

Oh Cheri', I don't have the yellow. I thought I did, but it turned out to be the purple/white.

Franklin, LA(Zone 9a)

I love the yellow one. It's such a happy plant.

When I have rooted babies, I'll post on plant trading. It prolly won't be soon, tho. My plant is still recovering from the *snow* we had this winter. It's only put out a single blooming stem so far this spring.

Please put my name in your trading journal so when it does have 'babies' I'll be on the list! My white/purple had 5 blooms at the same time with more buds coming on. Mine is inside in a big pot. It sits on top of the clothes dryer! It really likes it there for some reason. Maybe the heat from the dryer and the kitchen windows are close also. Have a great week and weekend!

flaicker, I'm posting a pix of the walking iris I have. I don't believe this is the one you're looking for. sorry for the confusion and I hope you find the completely blue one (and post a pix so we know what it looks like)

Vossner..........this is what mine looks like. Sooooo pretty!

I say mine, it's really my neighbor's who is sweet and has let me get a couple of fans. The ones she gave me earlier last fall I planted in mostly sun and the leaves look yellowish. I don't think they're too happy there. Since I've done some research I found most people grow them in shade (and so does my neighbor) but a few had success growing in full sun. So I'm going to leave them there for another year just to see what happens.

I have seen a solid blue walking iris on the Logee site. Very expensive, but nice. I would love to find some to trade!

Here is the picture from the Logee add.

We all need to go together and buy one. Then as it has babies, everyone gets one!

Can I babysit it? LOL ;o)

Lafayette, IN(Zone 5a)

TX or LA would probably have a good chance of delivering the babies!

I intend to buy one this year, since it doesn't seem like I'll get one in trade.

plantsafari.com has them for $7 per 3" pot (but the pic is much blue-er).

Even with the minimum order and minimum shipping, this seems like the best deal.

I've read that these don't make babies as prolifically as the white and the yellow. I guess I'll find out.

OK, I've been reading this AM. The one from Logee's is Neomarica caerulea 'Regina' and the info I find says it's a newer discovery. It is estimated to get to 3' tall and has sky blue flowers. Whereas the Royal (Neomarica caerulea) gets up to 5' tall and has intense blue flowers.

So, it's two different blue walking iris, supposedly.

Now I want them both. =( But I must have that 5 ft. beauty this year.

Yep! Me too! What is the minimum order and shipping? Maybe one of us could order them and then send to the others. We could split the shipping to you and pay for the shipping to us.

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

where will you order from?

Thanks,
Sandy

I'm ordering from plant safari. I'm looking there now.

irisluvr0252, the minimum order is $25, which includes the shipping, so it isn't bad. Minimum shipping is like $12. *sigh*

Anyway, I think I figured it out that to order two and ship one to someone else would be about $30. That's $15 each for two.

To get three brings it down to $13.56 ish *sigh*.

edited because I must have caught a brain cramp . . . .
