Thes above list has been updated with all new information that I could locate... My apology for any offense to anyone. Since it was my request that resulted in the above thread being used as a sticky I now propose:

1) this thread be given one week to allow for any corrections and/or additions to be brought to my attention. I will then update the list and submit it to Terry for her to post in place of the above Sticky Tread, under her name.

2) the new sticky thread will not allow for new postings other than Terry's

3) 3 months from now, the list be updated again and the end result be submitted to Terry to replace the list that will result from this thread.

Just trying to make using this Forum easy for all, no offense meant to anyone.

Judy

Additions, deletions and changes, please note here.

Or if you are opposed to a list period, please speak up.

The reason many of us need the list is because other peope use the abbreviations and a translation is needed. If most people on this forum agree not to use abbreviations, there will be no need for this list.

Judy,

Here is one of my hybrids, that as far as I know will be released this fall baring any drastic changes in it. The name is 'Orange King' and when I talk to someone about this brug I use OK as the abbreviation. Hope this helps.

lagata2,

Thanks for the information.

I wonder if it could be put as a tab in the Brug Forum, instead of a sticky,it clutters the forum,JMHO.

rootdoctor,

Please post your suggestion on the Dave's Garden Forum, can't ever tell what will get approved!!!

Judy

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I personally don't use the list,so it is something I have to scroll past,no real biggie to me,just a suggestion,I was not sure if I should even mention it,I did not want to clutter your thread, but I kinda thought you were asking for opinions.if I'm outta line let me know and I'll edit out the above.

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

Heck no, you aren't out of line!!!

I was going to let you handle the tab request, so you could field any complaints that the people who use this forum might have.

I am just trying to resolve this Abbreviation List issue with the least amount of confusion as possible since I seem to have opened a "can of worms", then I'm going to quickly get away from it.... run like a dog with cans tied to it's tail. lol lol

Judy

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

LOL!!!! I just read the other thread,I see what you mean, never a dull moment in here!
I'll post to Dave now.
I can stand the heat,so refer all complaints to me,LOL!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I like Roots suggestion.

lagata2, Re: Nancy's Angels; NA

"NA" was already in use therefore I used "NsA", if you want it changed to another please let me know.

THIS THREAD IS NO LONGER VALID.... THE INFORMATION ON THIS THREAD HAS NOT BEEN INCORPORATED INTO THE LIST.

WHEW!!! So glad!!

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

I've requested that the sticky be removed from this thread. I don't know who requested a "sticky" but the information on this thread is not VALID. I do not visit this forum any longer. Someone who posts here needs to create and maintain the list.

Good Brug Growing To All

Judy

Union City, CA(Zone 9b)

I am making a data base for Brugs . So far it looks like about 50% are named and disappear . Should be made averrable to people if it's named . A lot are from Germany , france , Italy , etc which means if you are lucky you can find a picture , Some , there is just a name .
Right now I have 267 listed and adding . I have made it thru the "E's with just name , abbrev. , maybe flower color . It's in mac formate , Ill post when I finish if someone wants a copy . So far it's 76-kb so it's not that large .

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

Tony,

How wonderful that is going to be!! If I were still "into" brugs I would surely find it interesting.

Note: Some of the brugs in pots that I left out in the yard to die last winter, have survived. Of course I won't have blooms until August or so but that is definitely easier than taking them in and out of the house. These were my "No Name" brugs but I'll be calling them all sorts of "sweet names" now.

I'll come back and post a picture a little later.

This pot was under a giant Oak tree, sitting on a tent floor. This must be either CG, Frosty or Isabella, all those are coming back from the roots. I left them in the ground, covered with mulch and a bucket.

That's one reason I'm doing it . With 32 fields [ a few like web site , hybronizer , date name etc ] won't help I D 'em
Leaf size , color shape , branch color , trunk color , flower color , size , shape , veins etc should help .

How impressive!!!

Judy

RICHMOND, VA(Zone 7b)

I've been very fond of "Everlasting" because its seedling produced my very satisfactory "Orange Custard" - which remains my unregistered pet name, and hardiest of Brugs. Is Everlasting registered?

Union City, CA(Zone 9b)

everlasting= is it a single ? do you have a picture ? [ with leaf ? ] anything else you know about it - roots easy , bug magnet , smell good , likes sun , etc ? I am working on a data base and no - I won't steal your picture .

RICHMOND, VA(Zone 7b)

I don't think I had the Everlasting plant itself, just a few seedlings I grew out that were Everlasting/Rosamond I received from Country Garden ? (I think) I boobooed, and after rechecking, my Orange Custard is an Eventide seedling (I blush with confusion) its picture:

and now the Everlasting/Rosamond seedling, a little gnawed on, (maybe from Cala) - but don't have info on its mama -

Thanks for picture , had leaves ,stems , trunk and flower
