Finally saw a Monarch emerge from chrysalis

Fort Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10b)

This morning weeding my Bougainvillea beds I saw a Monarch drying out after recently emerging from chrysalis. Often I have seen shells like this without realizing what made them. Now I know. I had a couple of shots left in my disposable camera so went at it. I had the film processed for disk. Here is the best shot.

Hey KKB! I have some pictures I took at the Key West Butterfly Conservatory posted in the main butterfly area. Among the pictures I didn't get were of the dozens of butterflies in chrysalis. They have them on display in several windows on the butterfly habitat side, where anyone can watch them. You can also see the lab operators performing various functions with butterflies.
