I thought they only bloomed in the fall and winter, but these are still going. The plant is itty bitty, about 18" tall.
Pink Chinese Hats, Holmskioldia sanguinea
You're killing me!! How sweet!
Hee hee, come down and we will go plant shopping!
I saw the sanguinea and thought you had a pink sang down there...LOL
I should go rest my eyes.....
CC, I killed the sangs. Bleu stepped on them too.
LOL Susie. Bleu is being framed I tell you!
This plant is so cute. So very cute. And pink.
You need one for your pepto garden Kell. Maybe you could get one of those nice big pink pots to grow it in.
Kell, she blames everything on poor Bleu! It is dog abuse I tell you!!! I am sure Bleu is a graceful as a little fairy.
Pepto pots rule!
OK, that does it Mel, Bleu is coming to visit you! Make sure your paths are wide, he has BIG feet.
No way could Bleus' feet be worst than Pauls'. Paul wears steel shoes and I cringe every time he wants to do work to the pool or the pond! He will step on EVERY plant in his path!
I'll show you! I'll send Paul for a visit!!! Nothing is safe from his plant stomping feet!
Oh Susie I love the little pink hats.............where did you get it? I am gonna have to drive down one weekend and visit.........with my great big truck.........LOL
So pretty
Mel, I think Paul is getting framed! Why, he's such a dear, loves your plants, would never step on one(or toss them out of the garage so he can park his boat and fishing gear there).
Dee, come on down. I got the pink one at Stuart Place nursery, I've been checking to see if they have more. They also had that blue sage that isn't really a sage, but haven't put any more out this spring.
DH is taking me to San Antonio for Mother's Day, he promised to let me plant shop till I drop!
I have never seen these before, too cool!
How far is San Antonio, Susie? There is a San Antonio thread that lists the good nurseries.
Mel, if I sent Susie that pretty pink pepto pot, I can hear her now, "Bleu didn't mean to break that pretty pink pepto pot, but he hates pink and he stepped on it and it went crack." Dee you better wear body armor but do not wear pink, Bleu may step on you too.
Susie get ready for a real treat in San Antonio. They have some of the best nursurys.......there is one on Bandara Road that use to have tons and tons of unusal plants and I bought so many there on my trips back and forth.....but don't forget all the other sites to see, the Alamo, Ripleys belive it or not, Lone Star Brewery and the Hall of Horns, Sea World and of course 6 flags.
and outside of town there are some old missions that are still tourist attractions...............LOL.......if you do all that you will drop...........
I've been to the Alamo, Lone Star Brewery and Sea World, so that will shorten the day. I am going to look at the San Antonio thread and plot out my trip on a map so DH won't have any excuses about getting lost or can't find the nursery.
Kell, Bleu likes pink, he had a pink stuffed bunny for Easter, he carried it around for weeks before he chewed it up.
LSB,great way to spend a day!! My Dad took me there as a kid,I went back later in life and found out why he liked it so much,LOL!
Yeah, I gotta keep DH away from there, especially if he drives his big black truck(it's HUGE, a 250 diesel, extended cab, I can't even park that thing let alone drive it)
Gosh, now I want to go to San Antonio. I love mapping out my nursery hopping days on Yahoo maps. Those are such fun days. I try to hit the antique shops too. The most fun is going to all new area that has lots. I also stop at every HD along the way. My husband thinks I am nuts but cute.
I should have checked in with all of you when I went to San Antonio. It's probably just as well that I didn't or I'd have had to rent A U-Haul to come home.
But Ada just look at all the wonderful buys you missed...........Never, never come to Texas without checking with a native first. We know were everthing is no matter where we live...........LOL
That's right Ada! We would show you all the right places to get plants.
I may not get to go Sunday, my daughter is very sick, we're waiting for the doctors office to open.
Please give Lauen a great big hug from me. Poor baby!
See, you are a mother, so you may not be able to celebrate Mother's Day. In a way how appropriate. You will be too busy mothering. I sure hope Lauren feels better soon Susie. I hope it is the flu or something like that.
Ada, you could borrow Susie's DH's big rig. Room for lots and lots of plants. LOL
So far they think it's a stubborn stomach virus. She seems better this afternoon.
Oh My, well I hope it will let up soon. That has been making the rounds and coming back for second and thirds. SO many have been out at work and get better and get it again. I am hoping for the best for the both of you......
Dee
Thanks Dee. She gets better, then she gets worse, then better. It's a cycle. I just want everyone to be all healthy and well soon! Those Dr bills are killing me.
That is so pretty, Cala! Never seen it before.
:) Donna
Oh Susie hope Lauren gets better soon.
Donna you're up and about! How are you feeling?
