I have a bloom already

Muskegon, MI(Zone 5a)

Im new to this forum and thought to post about myself and exciting news....Im Judy and Ive grown brugmansias for the last 5 years..Ive learned so much from other brug lovers and Im continuing to learn more and more each day...it may be 100 years and I still wont know everything about these plants...
The good news is I had some large cuttings sitting in water in quart jar containers this last winter and I just potted them up in dirt about 2 weeks ago...and now Im getting buds....how exciting is that?..Now some of you pros would probably smile about this because its probably already happen to you but to me it was a nice gift after the dreary winter.....from when it took me almost a whole summer to get my first bloom to getting a bloom even before I take mine out into the sun, this is a wonder....
I hope to be a regular on this forum to learn more about my favorite tropical...Judy

Welcome Judy and I think everyone here still gets excited about their first blooms of the year! At least I have read that..I have not yet had my first bloom ever so When it happens I will be on here shrieking and jumping up and down in excitement :)

Jazzpunkin,I know when you get the first Y and then the first bud your heart will start to race and every time you think about it you will be out there checking its size and when it starts to open you will continue to watch every moment you can..then comes the full bloom and its not over with yet since you will experience color changes in the bloom and ohhhhh the scent...Mine smelled so good I could smell it in the front yard at night..the plant was way back in the backyard but it just sailed through the night air so pungent you wish you could bottle it for the winter time...good luck and make sure you post a picture of your first...Judy

Your home made Soap is Great. I gave a few bars out for Xmas gifts and it was loved. Glad your Brugs made it through the winter and by the sounds of it you did an excellent job.
