I've had this for about a month now. I got it on eBay as ALOCASIA MACRORRHIZA ALBO VARIEGATA. It really seems to love it indoors. So now the question....what will happen when it goes outside? Will the white in the leaves scorch? Does it have to have full shade? Lots of water??? Does it love fertilizers? Any input will be greatly appreciated. I really like this little guy and want to give it what it needs! TIA
New to me....
lucky girl
I love that one!
LOL. Do I have an eye or what. I saw this a little while ago on a group photo of yours and lusted after it immediately. I was hoping it was a $4.99 - 4 inch plant at your local nursery. LOL Tell me it was and they have more.
Ha!!! I wish! DH and I were just having a conversation about this plant. He has asked me many times how much I paid for it and I refuse to answer! LOLOL He would just have a FIT!!! He's wanting a Harley and if I tell him how much I spend on plants then he will have a good argument on getting his dream.
Great looking Alocasia, Brinda. Great to see you posting again. You've been missed.
half day sun, water when dry and not too much nitrogen fertilizers. It shouldn't scorch..at least mine don't.Multiplies fast too. :-)
Oh goody....thanks so much for the help! And I really like 'Multiplies fast too"!!! LOL
Gee Brinda. LOL That much, huh?? A harley or a 3 leaved plant. Hard to pick. LOL
This are great,I lost mine over winter,I will try one again now that I have a sunroom.Yours sure looks happy.
Cool plant Brinda. Yours is a lot bigger than mine, but I'll bet the price was too. LOL! Thanks for the info, Kyle. Maybe my puny little plant will still grow up to be big.
Funny story about that Alocasia...I had planted one and it disappeared...so I planted some Ctenanthes there. Later (3 months ago) I tore them out and LO and BEHOLD...up comes the Alocasia but not one...6 or 7.
Hey Kell...wanna trade?
Carol
Shhhh....Kell, don't tell.....please don't tell! LOL
Thanks everyone! Gee Carol....I'm praying that this one multiplies! I am so in love with it. I don't think I'd be sad to see many of them this summer. I'm just praying that I keep it alive.
Mine are growing in shade with filtered sun for a couple of hours in the late afternoon. It grows with my Clivia, variegated Raphis, Cochliostemma and some other alocasias...lots of water, fast draining soil. I wonder where it went for 2 years?
LOL
You might want to check Kell's back pockets, Carol! Knowing her, she probably flew over there and stole them. LOL
See,she wasn't onEbay ,she was in Hawaii bay......
Mine was shipped yesterday, so I should receive it tomorrow. I will post a picture of it when I receive it. It is suppose to be in a 3 gal. pot. And beleive me shipping was a little expensive. But that is expected to be shipped in the pot of that size. So hopefully it will arrive in good condition.

I see there is another one listed, if anyone is interested. This one has two pups on it.
Hmmmm Is this the same as the "Mickey Mouse Alocasia" Doesn't look like it.
Is the Mickey Mouse variegated?
Mickey Mouse Taro is "Xanthosoma albomarginata". It is not the same, but you can find the MM Taro here http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/48859/index.html . I love both of them!
It's a beauty also, I really do like variegated plants.
