Nectaroscordum siculum/ honey garlic

Does anyone know if there are different subspecies of this (garlicky type) bulb...if there are, does anyone have a resource that lists the various subspecies?

The pictures on plant files seem different to me, but perhaps that's just the photography...

I am looking for one with a good purple stripe in it--not pinky...

Thanks so much. t.

My books say there are only 2 nectaroscordum - bulgaricum and siculum and this is simply based on the area they originate (Italy, Turkey and Bulgaria. The siculum tend to have greenish red flowers while the bulgaricum have whitish flowers shaded with green and pink. Hope this helps.

They very pretty much by lighting conditions and soil.
Some years ours are darker than others.

The time of day you shoot the shots makes a big difference too.
This was shot two evenings ago.
