New Greenhouse and looking for Plumeria

N. Mississippi, MS(Zone 8a)

Hi everyone. My brother brought me back a Plumeria cutting last year from Hawaii. I potted it and got it to root and got a ton of leaves. This was before I had a good greenhouse. Needless to say, the heater went out in the small one I was using and I lost it - very, very frustrating. Well, now I have a new Greenhouse and winter wont be a problem again this year. I thought I would see if anyone on here might have some cuttings they could part with? I have some plants on my trade list and will try to add more as the year goes on. Maybe I dont have enough to offer for such a beautiful plant but I thought I would try. I have a new greenhouse and trying to fill it up without spending a fortune so willing to try cuttings and seeds. thanks all. I am new here and I enjoy all your posts - very informational.

Hi slgrowers, welcome to Dave's Garden. You've got mail! :-)

Slgrowers, I have only been growing plumerias for a couple of years now and don't have anything to cut from as yet. My largest ones only have three branches. Most people here are new to plumerias also and won't have branches to cut from either. I have been suggesting to those on a budget to order from Aloha Palms. Their cuttings are very inexpensive at $1.99 each. Also, ebay frequently as Dutch Auctions, which are also inexpensive. Here's a link for Aloha Palms: http://www.alohapalms.com/cgi-bin/store/agora.cgi?cart_id=1674356.15380*wt10h1&product=PLUMERIAS Other great places to buy from are Florida Colors and Maui Plumeria Gardens. You don't have a location of where you are, but here in Southern California, Home Depot carries one-gallon plumerias in the summertime for around $10 each. Good luck!
