New Entries in the PlantFiles

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Hi Everyone! I've been entering Plumeria cultivars from published lists from Jim Little, Florida Colors, Plumeria 101, Plumeria Societies, and other references to build up the database. Feel free to upload your gorgeous pictures as your plumerias bloom this summer! As soon as I'm finished entering all the cultivars, I'll start uploading photos as well.

Clare you are awesome!!!! Thank you so much for doing this. I almost had a heart attack when I typed in plumeria and saw all of the new additions. My DH wants to know how many of these are actually yours. He is jealous, LOL. Thank you Thank you Thank you.

Kim, you are so sweet. It has been my pleasure. There is still a lot of work to do yet and many more pictures to upload. I had to ask permission from fellow plumie enthusiasts to add their pictures to the database, and nearly all of them gave me permission to use their photos. Only Hawaii Sandy, Sandy Lavarias, from eBay (Jim Little's daughter) said no. This is too bad because she has some really nice pictures. Oh well, we will fill it with Dave's members' pictures.

The photos which are mine are only Celadine, Duke, and Intense Rainbow. Here is a link with some of my pictures: http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/492279/ But you can tell your hubby that I currently have 63 different cultivars and 50 seedlings. Most of my plumies are just rooted or rooting cuttings at this point, but I hope to have more flowers to add to the database in the near future! Right now, my Sarah's Curly Pink is about to bloom as is my Angus Selection #3. Feel free to add any lovelies that you have:-)

Well we are newbies when it comes to plumeria. We honeymooned in Kauai and got addicted fast. We bought our first one (Celadine) last year. It has grown and shot out some leaves but not flowered yet. This year we added Duke and Candy Stripe. Everyone calls it our stick garden. We can't wait to add more to the collection. There is a guy in our hometown that grows plumeria. He owns his own garden center. I actually took this picture to show you. I will try to go back when his start to open and snap some shots. Thanks again for all of the hard work!

Kauai:

I love the shape of the plumeria in your first photograph. I have a few seedlings and a cutting that are not growing vertically straight and they remind me of free form art. Whether they're growing straight or curved, I love them! :-)

delecie - I though that the first one was crazy as well. I love it when things grow differently. That particular plumeria was huge. I wish my DH would have gotten a better picture.

Kauai, those are amazing pictures. Thanks so much for sharing them. That first one is just huge and very unusual! How lovely! Ah, I love Celadine. You just can't beat the fragrance of that one.
