Fayette, MO(Zone 6a)

It must be a busy time of year for all the farmers.. Everyone is sure quiet here on the farm forum.

I got up early and let the cows into a different pasture this morning. They love the Spring grass there, but the fences aren't so tight, but I'm home today...and tomorrow.

The busy season of newborn lambs and goats has ended. Now I am waiting on a few calves....

I need to work on the yard and clean house a little today... and stop and smell the roses a little. I am enjoying the iris blooms so much... and since I have a digital camera now , it is so fun to take pictures. and my first daylily bloomed already. It is a very plain one. but still enjoyable.

A couple of days ago I spotted a bird I hadn't seen before roosting in a tree above where the cattle were. First I thought it was my crazy guinea. But a close look revealed a bird I hadn't seen around here... a cattle egret. I had to go look that one up. I saw him for a couple of days in a row. Interesting ... anyone else have these? I wonder if they eat ticks?
