Hi! I have had my Ohio Buckeye tree seeds/nuts in the frig all winter so they have been stratified, & now they are ready to be potted into 70 degree weather. I thought four nuts per trade would mail o.k. .....sase or trade , I have enough for twenty trades...& check out my gardening journal on miracles from Christ that happened to me...thanks! mark
Offered: Ohio Buckeye Tree seeds/nuts
Hi Mark - Are these hard to germinate? I always loved Buckeyes as a kid and would love a few trees on my property. I dont even know if they would grow here. I am in Mississippi - zone 8a by most maps, 7b by some. What do you think?
Hi there! I've had two split apart in the frig so I planted them & they came up...it was my first time with them....I was told to keep them in the 30 something degree range & then bring them out in an enviroment of 70 degrees for them to sprout...I'm going to put some in pots or in the garden to get them started...hope this helps, got plenty if you want to try them...God Bless! mark
If the Ohio Buckeyes are similar to the horse chestnuts in our area, they don't need much encouragement to sprout after cold treatment.
We raked up our neighbor's leaves last fall without removing the 'buckeyes', and found these at the bottom of the mulch in the flower beds a couple of weeks ago... *giggle*

Mark,
I'm in Mississippi, too, and would love to try some. Can we do SASE, and how much postage?
Thanks!
Yvonne
Slgrowers.... I have several of the red buckeye growing in a pot and there are a few of the northern buckeyes growing down here in zone 8a. The don't seem to grow as fast as the Northern ones, but that could be because we don't have the extreme cold of the north. Other than that they do fine.
Mark
I would like some also,,
