multiflora hoya has spots all over it.
OH wooeess Mee, what's bothering me
I think the red is a phototropic reaction to small bug bites...too much sun/light and perhaps mites?
Carol
it's in the shaded greenhouse and none of the other hoyas have this, so maybe mites? what to do about them
To be sure, why don't you take it to the Plant Pathologist at the Extention Service. Sounds wierd...although my hoyas are in a shaded greenhouse....they do get red sometimes.
Carol
Doesn't look right for a multiflora...green is too light.
Well, I have a couple other hoyas that are light green and suppose to be brighter green, I guess there is some sunlight in there, but not direct sunlight, they need full shade ha?
kathy
Well...David Liddle grows them in 80% shade...I can't get that dark...so mine are about 65% shade and they do get red edges and dots where the little insects bite....You are in a fairly bright light place...so I am guessing it is light. Awanda in Mesa has two shadecloths over her greenhouse.
In total shade with indirect bright light is really ideal....
Carol
ok, thanks
Yep, Carol is correct, I do have 2 shade cloths over my greenhouse. Kathy, I have a multiflora cutting I can send you....got soap, handcream or footcream:-)???
Blessings,
Awanda
so you think this is a gonner? I stll have it, it even has new growth on it, don't want to call it quits with this thing.
kathy
NAH...not a gonner...just give it more shade.
Mine started looking a lot like that when I had sprayed it with an aphid concoction (soap, h2o2, and water). I figured that I had mixed it too strong- but maybe it was the sun. Could it be a mixture of both, or what?
