I can't decide.....

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

This is a Susie cross. PB X Rosamond. I can't decide if it is different enough to keep and name. I have been calling it Pinkmond. It gets darker for me than either of its parents. It may be a bit smaller than Rosamond and seems to have more of an attitude. I just do not know what to do.

Here is a pic of Rosabelle I took today to show you how really dark Pinkmond is in comparison. They are right next to each other.

Keep it, keep it, kell!! It's such a vivid pink. If you don't want it...I'm sure me and 10,000 other brug fans would be knocking on your door.

Kell, my Rosamond have the calyx tight against the flower. Your PB x Rosamond seem to extend out of the calyx more. This is photo of my Rosamond.

Gosh Barb, my Rosamond looks nothing like yours. Yours is just gorgeous. Mine is a pale pink. Let me go look and see if I have one open to take a pic. Your calyx is so low too. I just really love that look.

Kell, I like Pinkmond, but it didn't like TX. I will blame it on Bleu, I think he stepped on it!
My Rosamond flower looks like Barb's and Phil's.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

I think it is really pretty Kell .... see what it does this summer. It bloomed a lot didn't it?? I think I need one of those Rosamonds ... gorgeous Barb and Phil.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

So do I Deb. My my. I wonder what brug I have been calling Rosamond for years now. LOL

Here is mine that just opened, it usually has a bit more color than this.

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Very pretty Kell . I would have a real hard time getting rid of one that looked like that.

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Psssst, Kell...I have the Official Hawaiian Recycling Station for Wayward Brugmansias. Instead of composting her...send her out here to live the rest of her days in Paradise.... hmmmmm?

Carol

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Carol, have a brug I want to send you when I get caught up. It is huge flowered one that gets so tall. I figure you have room to let it grow undisturbed for a few years just to see what it will do. It is very BIG!! I will toss this in too, if you remind me.

Thanks all. I better send Susie another piece. She is such a brug killer lately! LOL I think it is her gators doing it.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I haven't seen the gator since they fixed the bridge over the resaca, I hope somebody made shoes out of her! It's Bleu, and I'm not framing him, he is guilty as charged! He stepped on my brug.
I do have some of your seed crosses up and I haven't killed them yet.

Whitewater, WI

It's a keepa, Kell... :)

You never give up on a pink...lol

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Beautiful Kell. Susie I blame DH for my broken brugs out throwing frisbee with the dogs, broken family keep sake Christmas tree ornaments, and collector plates off the wall. They go wild playing inside or outside the house lol.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

My Rosamond looks like Barb's - of course Barb sent it to me, so I'm certain that had something to do with it!!! Thanks, Barb!!!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Donna, hopefully he is getting better. He has started using the rock pathways in the garden, but sometimes he just forgets, especially if he sees something to chase!

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

LOL Susie. You ought to see mine go after the squirrels. They go right through anything to get to them. Just planted a ginger bed in the back corner. Wondering how long it will last since that is right where the squirrels run to, to get away. It is so funny to watch them except the few time they get one then I have to go into the house. Dudes shakes it like a rag doll. I have a Fiest and Rat Terrier which are both squirrels dogs

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

Kell, good news I hope, I just reviewed 3 of your 2003 pictures of the Rosamond and one of the pictures/blooms is a real dark pink. If you still have the original pictures the date and placement might enable you to identify the "real" Rosamond, perhaps the tags were accidently switched.

Hope I have been of assistance.

Judy

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Kell - thanks. OHRSWB has JUST the spots. D'ya think it will make a good timber??

Carol LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Yes, I bet it will Carol. LOL. But you have to see how big it will get before you harvest the wood. LOL.

Gee Judy, I wouldn't even know where to look for my 2003 pictures online. Where did you find them? Oh, I just checked plant files and they had 3 from 2003, but all are pale pink.

Must be my monitor, as it shows one as much darker. Strange!!

Kell

I have a friend in New Mexico who would ride a mule to your door to pick up a Pinkmond! And I would certainly fly in on my broomstick to carry one home to live with me.

Very pretty Kell. Thanks for sharing that pic with us. :~)

All the Brug pictures are beautiful!

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Hi Kell, my Rosamond from a cutting you sent me last year has about a dozen buds. Should open next week for the first time. I also have some seedlings of a Pinkmond cross. I'll post pics when Rosamond opens. Thanks for posting the picture of Pinkmond.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh good Linda. Please post the pic of Rosamond. I want to see what yours looks like. LOL THANKS

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Kell, Your Pinkmond is stunning. I love it!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

It's pretty Kell and you will just have to evaluate it this summer to see if it is a keeper for you. You have many pretty ones and it will be a tough decision as to what to keep or what to toss or what to use for further hybridizing.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Kell, I found an itty bitty Pinkmond that survived the dog attack. I will try not to kill it.
