Also found these for 1.99 each. They are so cool, the leaves are variegated.

I grow Nasturtium 'Alaska' from seed all the time. I love it in my hanging baskets and window boxes. I love those flowers though. all the ones I plant seem to come out red or orange. Is this 'Alaska'? or is it some new cv.?

Thanks,
Martha

I have them growing around my banana trees and they dont even die back during winter. However, I have never seen them variegated before.

Lisa, those are pretty variegated ones. I have them too in light yellow, dark yellow, and orange. The nice thing is that the seeds do come true so they come back year after year.

Clare those are beautiful. Don't nasturiums "peter out" when it gets really hot? where are these planted. I might grow from seed next year. await your comments.

Thanks, Lisa and Nery! Actually, mine usually get a bad case of aphids behind the leaves and on the stems mid-summer, and so I yank them out as soon as I notice the aphids. There are usually seeds left on the ground, and I leave those for the following year. These are planted beneath my roses.

We have pretty hot summers here and they do well ( we get over 100 alot in July and August) - I haven't noticed petering out..... we had an any colony loving them though - they covered the back of the leaves of a couple plants this year.... ugh

You know, I bet the ants are the ones that put the aphids there. Ants are known to farm aphids. I noticed a trail of ants there the other day, and I bet that is what they are doing. Time to get out the Raid!
