Oooooh this one is simply gorgeous!!! It reminds me of the pandora vine bloom. Does it root easy? Maybe when you break off a piece by accident you can root it for you know who...lol.

I think it roots fairly easily. This is a new one for me. Perhaps someone else has had experience with it. I couldnt believe the size for 12 bucks.

You have such neat things.

You got a really good deal on this one. I don't remember what I paid a few years ago at an online nursery, but it was probably close to that and the plant wasn't over 8 inches tall. It was then late blooming in the summer. Very disappointing, but such beautiful blooms.

They are perennial most years here, and mine even survived the freeze with straw over it, but it took it to the ground. They behave a lot like the yellow one, a sprawling shrubby vine, but they are so beautiful when they flower. Give them plenty of fertilize and water during active growth and flowering. They bloom on new growth.
There is a nursery here that has a huge one inside, growing in the floor of the greenhouse. It must have had 200 blooms on it, absolutely stunning!
They root easily, semi-ripe to hardwood 4 to 6 inch cuttings, cut where a node will seal the end of the cutting and remove all except two leaves. Dip in rooting hormone(I use the liquid), use bottom heat for faster rooting.

I also had a five gallon can of this allamanda. It didn't over winter very well in the greenhouse. I guess because it was on the side that got morning bright and more shade in the afternoon. I am hoping it will take off again when we get some warmer weather and I can put it outside.

I just love the color of the bloom.

It is so much prettier than the Chocolate Cherries one. I saw Chocolate Cherries at a nursery and it was kind of ugly.

Great find, Lisa! It's really a pretty one. I think the chocolate is a unique color, unusual and I like it, too.

If you ever do any cuttings from it I would love to get on the list for a trade. : - >

I will see what I can do.

Thank you!
