Hi from new member from Iowa

Boone, IA

I've used the Garden Watch Dog for a couple of months now and finally decided to take the plunge. Money well spent. I know I'm going to waste a few more hours a week on this site. Already heard about a Roundup in Iowa that sounds like a lot of fun. I moved to an 8 acre acreage a little over a year ago and just love it. Have a big garden with lots of tomatoes hardening off today. Still need to have our house landscaped. Have a wonderfun sunroom with tons of southwest light an an area for transplanting and making a mess and being able to shut the door and still have a clean kitchen. Looking forward to gleaning as much information as possible.

Hi Nancy. I hope you are enjoying yourself here at Daves and also hope you will come to the RU in Des Moines so we can all meet and chat the day away. Would be great to have you there. Iowa is getting a nice number of members now. Check out the Roundup forum if you haven't already. Hope to see you a week from Sat. in person and soon on the forums.

Thanks Shirley,

I guess I'm from the old school. I always think I need a formal invite before attending anything. I don't have much to trade, I've moved too much to have established plants, but I do have some heirloom tomato seedlings I can bring and I can always make some food. I'll sign up on the Roundup forum and thanks so much for your welcome.

Will be looking forward to meeting you. Don't worry about bringing stuff plants. Just come and let's get to know each other. There is always next year and you will have more time to think about it then. I'd be hard pressed to find plants to bring if I just joined recently. So, will see you in a little more than a week. Can't wait.

Nancy, it was so nice to meet you. I hope we will get to chat later this summer. I'm sure glad the RU wasn't this weekend. We would all be freezing.

Hi Nancy,
What a difference in this Saturday and last Saturday! It was so good to meet you at Roundup and we look forward to sharing our gardening passions with you.

PS: the wireless rain gauge works very well. Now if we can just get it to quit raining for a while and warm up :-)

I also joined DG the week before the RU. What a great site.

I don't know if we met at the RU or not. Will check the large group photo that IowaRon posted.
It has our names printed right on it.

Will remember you next time as you are also from my hometown--Boone!

Maiden name Aldrich. I'm going to be 60 in June. How did THAT happen! :)

My Mom, Jane, owned the Bon Appetite restaurant on Story St across from the movie theater.
It burned in 1969 along with Western Auto. That ground is now the little park with the train mural on the wall.

I still love to visit. Usually on Memorial Day.

Yes Toni, I remember you. I think of you whenever I pass the mural downtown. We talked for several minutes but there were so many new faces to remember. I hope to see you again this year. I had so much fun last year and have really enjoyed my time with Dave's Garden.

See you in May,
Nancy
