Hoya ID please

Fair Lawn, NJ(Zone 6b)

Hi Hoya forum,
would you please be so kind and look at my new Hoya and tell me what I bought?
I walked into our local Nursery chain on Saturday ( Metropolitan Plant Exchange) to buy pretty annuals for spring plantings. I did that and I also bought a very nice Hoya. I simply had to....
As I looked up into the ceiling of the store, I saw at least 10 nice and full baskets of that particular plant. The sales person told me that the grower went out of business and had sold them all. This plant was 12.50$. It has about 5 long shoots and a few short ones. The leaves are fairly small and compact. It was sold as lacunosa. Looking at pictures, I don't know what I have. But I am happy I bought it!!
Perhaps you also have some specific cultural requirements?

RUK I can't tell you what you have, but I can tell you it's not lacunosa:-). It kinda looks like hoya Cummingiana. Let's see what others have to say. It is a nice looking plant, so congrats on your find!!

and - Aloha Hoya, I just wanted to tell you, your website is terrific! It seems I bought a warm grower. No problem.

Just thought I give you an update on my cumingiana. It does very well in our summer heat here and and is budding and flowering on several shoots.
It is very fragrant, but - isn't it supposed to smell of Citrus and Coconut? The topnote is surely very strongly Citrus. About the coconut? I haven't detected that at all, it smells a little like Pledge ( if one could perhaps compare it to grapefruit scented pledge) or other floor wax. It isn't unpleasant, just strange.
Has anybody else noticed that?

You MUST go & read the thread here started by Matt a few days ago that says, "What does it smell like". It is a great thread & talks about this very subject. H. cumingiana does indeed have a strange smell. I like it, but some have compared it to a cleaning product like you did. You must be making yours happy to have all those blooms. Congrats.

I really don't have much input but just wanted to say that I wish I could find a hoya like that at the local nursery chain. Great find!
