I don't have as much room as I'd like so I have to be a little picky when I choose a large plant. My husband already said the back yard is looking more like a jungle. I want to add a pink brugmansia, so I'm asking for opinions on what you think are the best of the pinks available in the States. I tend to like darker vibrant colors in general.
Thanks!
Mary

Butterfly, Suzanne or Pink Beauty
A girl after my own heart. LOL! Unfortunately, what is dark pink in one area may not be in another, Mary. Where is Poway? I live in the East Bay and pinks do not get that dark here. So far, Suzanne has been the darkest for me of the true pinks. Pics of Mountain Magic look very dark but so far for me it is very pale. L'Amour is dark for me in the summer and a pretty shaped brug but it is not a true pink, has an orangey cast to the pink color. So does Red. Very dark, but not a true pink. Same with Sexy Lady.
I was just looking at Butterfly today and it was surprisingly dark.
Hi Kell, Poway is in San Diego County about 4 miles off the 15 freeway.

Geez Root, that is amazing!! Must be the rabbit doo. LOL
WOW, that's huge. My Rosamond (Kell) has about a dozen large buds, cant wait for them to open.

Susane and butterfly are the darkest for me. Especially butterfly and it comes back faithfully every year. Susanne didn't overwinter for me here in S.C. but I did have one cutting of it to fall back on.
Rosenquartz also was one of my better pinks last year with almost 700 blooms divided between about 6 or 7 flushes and it overwintered nicely.

Rosamond and L'Amour were my deepest pinks last year. I have not gotten a deep pink on Butterfly...Maybe this year???
Please add Susane to my growing list, David!!
