I had to remove the other part of the Y, so now it only has that top part you see. It has arms that go every directions, because she was too tall for the windows in the sunroom, and even though I turned her, she grew really weird. Here are some pics.
Can this mangled cut Isabella X bloom?
Please excuse the mess on the porch. We just got a new loveseat and Russ hasn't taken that icky old thing to the dump yet. And that background house on the first pic is the "ugly house" we neighbors have dealt with for years, but was finally bought by someone who is slowly fixing it up. They have already re-roofed it (it was BAD) and they show up every weekend and work inside. But they are going to have to raise it up to get to the foundation which is in terrible shape. I can't believe they paid as much for it as they did - it doesn't even hardly have a yard. Tiny bit of grass area and that's it. Can't wait for it to be painted. lol!
Your plants are looking very good Karrie. You will have blooms in no time. I wouldn't worry about Isabella. She will be fine.
Thanks - she looks like a wreck!
Plants look great and Isabella is a big girl.
I was thinking I saw Christmas lights hanging on the 'Green' house next door. :)
Your brugs look just great Karrie. So many cuttings. You will have a bloom filled summer!!
I just love those deep covered porches. You don't often see them up here. In the PNW we try for a happy medium between keeping the rain off and letting as much sun in as we can.
Your plants will be do fine.
Thanks everyone!
I am lucky to have this south facing porch, just like my south facing sunroom. I get enough light to be able to keep plants on it to enjoy from my lounger, and as the sun comes and goes with dampled shade, it's not constant and brutal. I'll post some summer pics later when I have it going well. It's going to be my outdoor tropical room. I think I've outdone myself though - I had to take everything (you saw only a little bit of it) inside last night and "whew"! What a chore! And I have even more to add in mid may (hanging baskets, annuals, saddlebags.........)
Oh yeah! Those Christmas Lights were on OUR house, not that green one, and nope - we never take them down until they burn out! That's Russ's job and that's the way he does it! :-)

Mess? On the porch? Hello? Your cuttings look great!
Karrie your plants look great, maybe you should have bought that house, torn it down and planted lots of BRUGS LOL
Looking good Karrie. I have 'Christmas' lights on my deck and they're on a timer that turns them on every evening (year round). I like the way they light up the yard and they make me happy. Hope you get lots of blooms this summer.
Aloha..that is what I was thinking.. also did not see a horrible house..lol.. ah well.. I am getting older
whoops... I didn't even notice your porch trimmings. I thought I saw dangles from the green eves. I've just watched Jeft Foxworthy too much and never expected lights up in WA. :)
fwiw, I've got a strand of multicolored flashers stapled around the frame of big cockfight oil painting in the garage and usually keep a pile of lights with a chaser in the corner. They come on when I turn on my lights for 'business'. Garage style ambience and elegance for the southern gardener in me. ;)
Oh if you could only see our front porch now! And NO I'm not taking any pictures of this! We had a cold night last night, so there aren't any plants out there right now, but there is not only the old loveseat out there but ALSO a broken refrigerator! I feel like we're the Clampitts! sp?) Our fridge bit the dust and Russ went out and bought one yesterday - they are picking up this old one when they deliver the new one today. If we don't find someone to pick up this loveseat it is headed for the dump. I listed it on that Free Cycle website - need to check my yahoo email. I want my porch back! lol!
Good grief Karrie!! What is that South Hill coming to!! My folks lived up there years ago and would have been horrified !! Turquois houses? Christmas lights up year 'round? Refrigerators on the front porch? How far up the hill do you live? LOL, Jeanette
LOL Jeanette! Fridge is gone, thank goodness, and if noone from freecycle wants the loveseat, it's going to the dump this weekend (me hopes!). Like your sense of humor though! I just told Russ what you said and he told me to tell you something else, but I wasn't going there at Daves, lol!
Now if these new owners of that turquoise house would just hurry up and fix the outside first instead of the inside............ I'd be one happy...........................hillbilly!
Karrie
Karrie, tell Russ I'm sorry. I was having a chuckle at his expense. Not fair when you don't know the person. Stil LOL. Jeanette
Sorry, Russ not Dave. Jeanette

Oh no, he thought it was funny! He has a good sense of humor too! :-)
Hi Karrie, I was admiring the cuttings you are growing. Everything looks so healthy and green. What are there names?
Eileen
Eileen,
The cuttings are: Whiskers, Creamsicle, Cherokee, Super Nova, Herrenhauser Garten, and a variagated one that could be Maya or Peaches & Cream (I'm hoping for Maya). I bought the variagated one at a nursery and it didn't say on the label what it was and the nursery guy doesn't know. I'm looking forward to experimenting with crossing some with some pollen I was sent. I had two Cherokees but one of them kicked the bucket (although I am still watering it, lol - you never know!) I just love the blooms of the Cherokees so I hope this one survivies - it seems to be growing well. The other one was small and a slow grower. All of these look like they might be ready to graduate to their summer pot size, but I'm trying to hold off just two more weeks, when it's safe to leave them outside constantly, so I'm not lugging heavy plants into the house at night. If the weather says it's going to be 39 or lower, I don't mess around and bring them in. They've had a few nights outside so far and seemed to just love it - I think they like fresh air, as long as it's not windy. Sorry I'm so long winded - I'm still half asleep - I slept in today (I got up at 10 - it's 11 now).
