Jack In The Pulpit (Arisaema triphyllum)
hi Michele
i believe this image and a cpl others of yours are A. triphyllum
which use to be a synonym but no longer is
A.ringens is a Japanese Arisaema and A.triphyllum is American
i thought you might want to ask for them to be moved to their proper place ?
rather then for me to report an error ?
welcome back to DG, you have been missed
Dick
Really? Mine is the American. It's wild. Could you please?
Oh, right. I get it now. It's all becoming clear. Lol. I'll ask them now.
Okay, I'm confused now. There doesn't seem to be a single species, rather there are like three with subspecies. I have no idea where to put it.
I saw that there was no entry for Arisaema triphyllum. Most likely because they have been lumped in with Arisaema ringens so far. Also, until recently, it appears that A. triphyllum appeared as a synonym for A. ringens, which is incorrect.
Go ahead and create an entry for Arisaema triphyllum. If you need help, just give a holler.
I see that someone has created an entry for Arisaema triphyllum. Would you like your photo moved to that entry? http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/160657/
CaptMicha, I'm bumping this back up to see if you agree with the move?
This image was moved today, to it's present location in Arisaema triphyllum.
Classifying A. Tryphyllum as Ringens is absolute rubbish, so many quirky taxonomists out there. I think it's a shame that horticulturists are not respected more by taxonomists. Seems like they always want to tear clades apart or lump species together.
