Those expecting plants from this this week. Be patient.
Guess what? I went to take plants downstairs in the basement yesterday. I took a terrible fall! I cracked my lip, busted my knee, twisted my ankle, and landed flat on my face. Plants flew everywhere...geeez!
As you can see I'm still alive. And those darn kids were snickering! So see their mother laying on the floor face down. Then after the giggles they said awwweee Mommy are you alright? grrrrrrrr I think I'll make them clean the yard for that!
The things we do for our plants...grrrrrrrrrr
OMG!!! (((((Kim)))))
I've had a couple of near misses myself, carrying flats down to the basement. Ouch!!! Time to declare yourself Queen For The Day..... ice your ankle, put your feet up, and make the kids fetch & carry for you! :-)
Take care, and be extra sweet to yourself!
LOL sorry had to laugh at the "kid" comments!! But sorry to hear about your fall....at least you're ok...and bonus...you'll have a clean yard! LOL
LOL! I had to laugh too just now.
Glad you OK, but it is kinda funny in a kid way!!
My goodness please be careful. You could have really done youself some real harm. I believe I would have to do more than have them clean. Off with their heads.
Oh Kim
Thanks God you are okay ...... these are little thing for paying beautiful plants. How are you now? Please be careful when going up or down stairs and especially when with beautiful plants.
Kaleem
Kim, glad to hear you are ok! How did the plants take the fall? Kids will be kids! Get even with them when they take a fall! You know it will happen sooner or later!

Kim, LOL ..... I'm glad to hear that I'm not alone in the elite club of clutzy gardeners...... I fell up the stairs carrying my plants the other day ...Didn't pick my feet up high enough and landed face first with plants sliding across the deck... I'm sure if the dogs could have laughed they would have...... as it was they took to the other side of the deck and down the other stairs when certain explatives spewed forth from my mouth ...... thank goodnes my daughter wasn't around to hear the things she would have heard......
I wish I had a nickel for every hard fall I've taken with a flat of plants in my arms. It seems I get hurt worst when I am trying to keep the flat upright and safe as I go down! One year I fell several times before it sank in that I needed to 'not' wear Berkie sandals going upstairs. I'd hook the toe on the top step and land on my stomach, flat of flowers balanced in front of me... knocked the air right out of me! Hope you're feeling better soon, Kim.
Falling is NOT Funny! But yall got me cracking up!! ha ha ha.
Yeah! Offf with their heads!
Well, if you can laugh, you're ribs aren't broken, Kim.
LMBO!!!! ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks God... you can laugh...ha ha ha
Lol

Get better soon! ~ Suzi :)
Hey Kim, you can laugh at me if you want. Several years ago I was working at Shoneys. I was the dining room supervisor at this time and it was a very busy night, Friday if I remember right. We had the all you can eat boiled shrimp special and I had a tray with about 6 reorders of shrimp taking it out of the server line and I BUSTED the floor. Boiled shrimp went EVERYWHERE!!!!! Even under the cash register. The store was filled and I think every person in there got a laugh when I finally got back on my feet and hobbled to the back of the store.
It is funny now, but it sure wasn't then, I was sore for a week or two and kept a red face for a month. Everyone that came in there for a couple of weeks said, don't ask Sandra for more shrimp!!!

So sorry to hear about your fall. I don't usually fall out of my wheelchair, but I have had the odd and humorous run-ins with wasps while one arm was full of flat and the other working the chair. Guess which arm always goes for the wasp???
Gardening in a helmet... can't wait to tell my DH about that one! I already wear my space-age cooler hat and cooler vest for my MS (heat=bad, cool=good), along with my special blue-light filtering dark glasses for my eye pain. Add a helmet and I'm really set...
Kim,
Am so sorry to hear that you fell. That must have hurt. Hope you are alright.
Just wanted to tell you that my hostas are really growing since I planted them a day after they arrived last week. I wasn't sure if I should plant them directly in the ground but decided that if they can survive the cold in PA, that they would do fine here in OR. They seem very happy in their new home. One of the violet is kind of getting eaten by slugs but hope it will survive after I put more egg shells and Sluggo around it.
So take care of yourself, especially going up and down stairs.
Will ship your plants hopefully next week.

BassetMom, please post or email me with information on those glasses you mentioned. I've been so photo-sensitive lately with migraines, and it kills me when I have to hide inside on a nice, sunny day..... I've got big, dark sunglassed and a hat with a huge brim, but that's not always enough. I wonder if your dark glasses would do the trick?
Thanks!!
I have to find the info on my glasses. They are prescription lenses that filter the blue light (which is what causes my eyepain). I'll look...
Hmmm. I wonder if anyone still sells "blueblocker" sunglasses... those might do it! I hadn't thought in terms of trying to figure out if my eyes/head were sensitive to a particular color of light.... something to check, for sure.
Oh dear, Kim. I'm glad you are okay. You could have seriously hurt yourself. Didn't anyone tell you that you have to keep your eyes open?
:) Donna
LOL LOL LOL!!! ha ha ha. I can't remember if I had them open or not!
Ouch Kim... Glad you don't have anythiing broken.... just maybe your pride a bit.... I too have taken my share of spills... and can sympathize with you... DH always askes if the stairs, chair, or whatever is okay...never asks if I am... geez... guess I am like R. Dangerfield... "don't get no respect". Lol..
Hope you are feeling much better...
Gentle Hugs,
Carolyn
