B. L'amour

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

My B. L'amour started blooming yesterday. I was so surprised that it bloomed out yellow. I was beginning to think that I had tagged the cutting wrong, but this morning it started turning pink.

Gorgeous, Patricia....

Thanks Carol , I am hoping it darkens up, but it might be a little early in the season for that.
But it sure is exciting to see these first few brugs. bloom.

Very pretty Patricia! Lucky you to have blooms!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Very pretty bloom Patricia. I bet it will be even more pink tomorrow.

Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

Thanks Patricia!
I got one from Renee in Jan that was budded but dropped them all then dropped all the leafs.
I moved it out to the greenhouse and it's starting to leaf out so hopefully I'll get some of your joy this summer.

Very nice bloom!

Knoxville, TN

No worries Patrica,
She will darken up. I have noticed that the blooms get much deeper as the plant matures. My second year with L'Amour was when she really lived up to her name!!

That is really lovely, Patricia. I hope she does very well for you this year!

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

All my pinks are washed out now, Patricia. I have a few pinks that start out very yellow, but L'Amour never did for me. Makes it more interesting.

I was thinking that where you are it gets so hot. Do you get darker pinks than I do? Though I think it may be the humiditly that helps the pink along. This summer we have to compare!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I think I remember Monika saying that it takes good humidity to get the best color. In Iowa, humidity is a hit and miss thing.

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Kell, we will have to remember to check out the color differences later in the summer. And yes, in the summer we can get quite a bit hotter than you are there closer to the bay.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

As soon as I get enough Sexy Ladies started, I want to send you one to see if she gets darker for you Patricia.... if you are willing to trial her for me. Thanks

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

I would love to Kell !!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Mine just got finished blooming and the blooms were dark but our temps are probably warmer than what yours are. It will definitely get dark for you as your temps get higher and I believe the humidity also affects the darkness of blooms. I am so glad to see brugs blooming and everyone posting pictures.
