Okay, the tuber looks fantastic but what the heck do ya have it sitting in? I saw the other pics you posted and that is one beautiful EE.

Dravencat,
It's setting on Hydroton, an expanded clay product.
The water in the bottom of the container wicks up it.
This allows the plant to get as much water as it needs w/o rotting.

Ive never heard of it, of course I havnt heard of alot of things so that dosnt say much for me, but wow what a great idea. Ill have to check and see if anyone around here sells that. Sounds like a great way to start plants too when you get them in the mail. I like the way you can see the growth while still having such a healthy looking plant and not worrying about rotting is definatly a plus

if you know a sorce of this let us know on the thread here .
i have first green house this year and rot in by EE bulbs was my main bane ?

Northern California, CA

Smith & Hawken used to carry it in the stores by the pound in an open bin, don't think they carry it anymore. It's great stuff!

Any orchid or hydroponic source will have it.

I needed a lot so got mine at Midwest Hyroponic Supply

I hardily recommend them.

PS: Usually rot in EE's is due to the soil being too cool.
I have started them in pure water BUT at temps in the upper 70's.
