AKA Royal Walking Iris. It has blue/purple flowers and can get up to 5 ft tall.
I have the walking iris with the white flowers and the one with the yellow flowers.

I'm about to buy one - I'd rather get one in trade, or buy it from a member.

Thanx!

Me too! I would like to have one of these also! Hope someone has enough to share with both of us! Thanks!

hI,
I was given a walking iris for designing webpages by someone. I planted outside (zone 6) and later that evening, the member said "bring it in the house, it's not hardy there) It was grown very nicely in the house and about two months ago, had what I would call "baby iris's on the leaves. They were light purple. I will take a picture of it tonight and let you see if it is one you might like. It shot out a baby, so it is already potted and there are lots of shoots on the mom plant now...Later Janetlee

janetlee50, how cool to get paid in plants! =)

I have a walking iris that has white flowers with purple. Picture of that one's bloom below.

The one I'm looking for is blue or purple where this one is white. If that's what yours looks like in bloom, I'd love a baby.

I'm sure I could come up with a trade to tempt you.

irisluvr0252 - be careful. These Walking Iris are addictive, but thank goodness there aren't that many cultivars . . . yet LOL!

Oh boy,
I think my is like yours...they were such tiny blooms and didn't seem to last much more than a day...sorry...Janet

That's OK. =)

One cool thing about the walking iris blooms - they open in the AM and close that evening, but the same flower can open and close on several different days. Not necessarily in a row. =)

If yours is like mine, the blooms will get bigger as the plant become more established.

Oh well, what's one more addiction?!! I have the white/purple and received a yellow one in a huge plant trade. The white/purple has bloomed and forming a baby with another bloom setting on. The yellow has about 8-10 buds, but nothing has opened yet. Still waiting on the yellow one to have 'her' babies! Now that I have these two, I would like to have the blue/purple to go with them.
