Please share with me some of your tried and true online sources for fruit bearing plants. About 5 years ago I bought some bareroot trees from a Ca company, but I for the life of me can not locate them anymore. I am specifically looking for healthy and WONDERFUL tasting blueberry bushes.
Thanks in advance
Elizabeth

Try Raintree

Or Wallace

I have never ordered blueberries but I have ordered many things from these two and they have been good for me. Raintree has been exceptionally good about returning email questions.
Sincerely,
Rick
I bought mine from http://www.danfinch.com/berrys2.htm and was very pleased.
A note of caution. Most of us in the south have to grow southern highbush or rabbiteye type blueberries. The Greenville area is a litlle cooler, but I would check with Clemson before planting northern types. Usually you can get plants from local nurseries. Park's is also close to you.
I like RainTree also. A many of my fruiting plants are from RainTree.
Thank you Everyone!
Especially to Farmer Dill who took note of my location and was specific about the type I needed.
I have actually visited Parks many times before, and I'll be honest in saying it is not worth my 45 minute drive any longer.

Hey A. Rick how are all your fruit trees looking this spring. Lost all my apricots on both trees to frost. So far the cherries are okay but weatherman says frost possible the rest of the week. Was 84 degrees here yesterday now today very windy and probably only to 64 degrees. DonnaS
Look at noursefarms.com. I have ordered blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and asparagus from them this year. They have a 100% positive rating on Watchdog. They supply some of the big mailorder companies. The prices are very reasonable. Hope the products are as good. I live in a zone 4 so I asked them not to send them until the middle of May. I'll let you know.
Donna,
All of my trees survived the winter. Even the ones that were "destroyed" by the porcupine (r.i.p.) last fall. Fortunately that critter will not be with us this year.
Even the ones that had all the branches chewed to the main stump are doing amazingly well; all have leaves and a few have blossoms now!
Not expecting any survival I ordered and planted four more plum trees. They are all doing well so far. One of these has blossoms also but I think I should pluck any blossoms the first year shouldn't I? What do you think?
Sorry about the apricots.
I also planted two Poorman gooseberries and six lilacs. My gooseberries from last year are showing excellent growth and are loaded with flower buds.
I have lots of tulips. I will upload a few photos of my tulips for you.
I have been working on a greenhouse. I just finished the framework tonight and tomorrow I start covering it.
Here is the first photo that shows some of my tulips. You can see Gastineau channel in the background and a piece of my greenhouse.
LooneyLinda,
I saw your recommendation and I decided to order a few things from them. I thought that I would try some Annapolis strawberries and also some horseradish.
Rick
Rick, your tulips are just gorgeous and dafs looking great too. Too bad about your critter doing so much havoc with your trees. Maybe they will make it any way. Looks like you are making a large hoop greenhouse. What do you plan to use it for. I have almost everything out of my little gh now. Hate to spend the money to run the fan to keep it cool.
Your house looks lovely and you surely must enjoy the views of the water. I was really sorry not to be able to go to your place when we were up there last year.
I have not been on the computer much lately. Very busy and besides that there is a problem with receiving messages, not on DG but regular messages. Have had the problem for 2 months and the people at amerion can't seem to figure out what is wrong.
I had a problem with bunnies over winter. Never even thought about them eating my small trees. They really like Oak trees. Had two small ones, a Golden Quercus and another that I can't at the moment remember. They cut off every little limb as neatly as any knife. Now they like your trees are just barely sprouting a few limbs down low , so will ruin the shape of the trees.
Good luck with your new gh. DonnaS
